Emerging Scholars Network

The MNRS Emerging Scholars Network is a collaborative network of aspiring nursing scholars and leaders. The Emerging Scholars Network is an essential networking infrastructure that connects scholars at different levels of study and provides expanded opportunity for engagement and leadership within MNRS.

ALL students, post docs, and early career professionals are encouraged to become actively involved in leadership positions within MNRS and in promoting opportunities in the nursing field on their campus. Emerging Scholar students have unique opportunities to build leadership skills, professional relationships, and engage in service of the nursing profession.

If you are interested in getting involved, please send your resume or CV and a statement of intent to esn@mnrs.org.

Want to Get More Involved In MNRS?

The Emerging Scholars Network is a collaborative network of aspiring nursing scholars (student, post-doctoral, and new-career members within 3 years of taking on the position) and leaders. The Emerging Scholars Network connects scholars at different levels of study and provides expanded opportunity for engagement and leadership within MNRS.

Emerging Scholars are encouraged to become actively involved in leadership positions within MNRS and in promoting opportunities in the nursing field on their campus. Emerging Scholars have unique opportunities to build leadership skills, professional relationships, and engage in service of the nursing profession. We are currently recruiting for several ESN leadership positions:

  1. Co-Chair
  2. Board Liaison
  3. Secretary
  4. Treasurer
  5. Program Planning Committee Representative
  6. Liaison Program Coordinator

If you are interested in any one of these board positions, please include your CV, a photo, and a statement (no longer than 150 words) detailing your interest and commitment to the position. Being a executive committee member requires membership with MNRS, which does have an associated cost. However, this would give you opportunities to get more involved in student and early career related activities and initiatives within Midwestern nursing research, and the chance to get connected with other nurse researchers and leaders.

If you are looking for additional ways to get involved with MNRS, we have several liaison positions open. Our goal is to have a liaison at each University/College associated with MNRS. Help us meet our goal! The position would involve communicating MNRS/ESN activities to students, postdocs, and early career faculty at your institution and sharing your ideas with ESN.

Please contact us at esn@mnrs.org to learn more about these positions. If you are interested in applying, please send your Statement of Interest, photo, and CV to esn@mnrs.org by March 2, 2020.
