Honor a Champion
Celebrate the People Who Shape Nursing ScienceBehind every nurse scientist is someone who encouraged, mentored, challenged, supported, or inspired them along the way.
The MNRS Honor a Champion program gives members, colleagues, friends, and supporters an opportunity to recognize the people who have made a meaningful difference in their professional or personal journey. Your Champion may be a mentor, colleague, peer, educator, leader, friend, or supporter whose influence deserves to be celebrated.
Honor a Champion was launched in celebration of MNRS’s 50th Anniversary as “$50 for the 50th: Honor a Champion.” The response created an opportunity to continue the tradition beyond the anniversary year—celebrating those who have shaped nursing science while investing in those who will carry it forward.
Your Gift Supports the Next Generation
Gifts made through Honor a Champion support nursing research and the development of future nurse scientists. As funding is available, MNRS will designate $2,500 annually from the Honor a Champion Fund to support an Honor a Champion Grant.
In this way, every tribute does more than recognize someone who has made an impact—it helps create opportunities for the next generation of nursing scholars.

A Growing Tradition
During MNRS’s 50th Anniversary celebration, Honor a Champion honorees were recognized through a special slideshow presentation at the MNRS Annual Research Conference. That commemorative presentation is available below as a celebration of the Champions recognized during this milestone year.
Moving forward, MNRS will continue recognizing Honor a Champion honorees online as gifts are received. Special conference recognition of Honor a Champion donors and honorees will return during major five-year MNRS anniversary celebrations.
